Reports to: Director of Nursing Services.

Salary: Based on experience. 

Position Status: Full-time.

Hours of Operation: Day shift with some weekends and on-call duties; Must have flexibility of schedule to ensure adequate staffing to meet the needs of current residents.

Job Summary: The Assisted Living Staffing and Scheduling Coordinator will coordinate all staffing needs for Assisted Living. Will communicate and resolve all scheduling needs as appropriate.

Essential Functions / Duties:

  • Coordinate staffing and scheduling for a 24/7 Assisted Living
    • Maintain a schedule CNAs/CMAs
    • Coordinate replacement staffing as needed for call-ins and other scheduling issues
  • Document staff schedule variances such as absences, leave, vacations, tardies, etc.
  • Communicate staff schedule variances such as absences, leave, vacations, tardies, etc. to Director of Nursing and payroll
  • Document timeclock corrections and report to payroll
  • Assist with the hiring process for new nursing staff
  • Assist with onboarding new nursing staff
  • Gather daily data for shift assignments and post to in the clinics
  • Report on staffing needs/issues to Director of Nursing and Apartment Director
  • Communicate scheduling updates to staff as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate with have the following experience and qualities:

  • Must be a CMA
  • Staffing/scheduling administration experience preferred
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills

Abilities:

The successful candidate will have a poised, professional demeanor, and a positive attitude. They will be resourceful and have the ability to take the initiative in a changing workplace and adapt to varying requirements and needs. Specific abilities include:

  • Ability to understand, observe, and enforce infection control procedures related to facility services.
  • Ability to observe all facility safety policies and procedures; take accountability for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within the unit assigned and within his/her span of control.
  • Ability to understand and recognize potential physical, chemical, and electrical hazards and take immediate corrective action as appropriate.
  • Ability to safeguard the privacy of Residents’ health information.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, residents, and staff.

Physical and Other Requirements: 

This position is also subject to exposure to infectious diseases, conditions, etc., including the Hepatitis B viruses. Must be free of communicable diseases and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
