Salary Range: $14.00-$16.00 / hour  based on experience

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm (some weekends)

Job Summary: The New Resident Coordinators'  primary function is to provide support to residents moving into Independent Living apartments and activity coordination. In addition, this position supports the overall mission of resident retention; specifically, resident engagement as it relates to opportunities within the plaza.  

Essential Functions / Duties:

  • Provide support to the marketing department through coordination of move-in date for resident; work with resident and/or family members after application has been approved to ensure a seamless transition into the Community
  • Communicate with maintenance adn housekeeping regarding move-in dates and verify the apartment is ready for occupancy.
  • Meet or communicate with family member/resident prior to move in to ensure moving day and logistics are confirmed.
  • Greet resident/family member on move in day and be available for questions.
  • Prepare welcome baskets/packets for placement in apartments.
  • Attend lease signing with client and Marketing Team.
  • Facilitate the following during the first 30 days after resident moves into apartment:
    • Review New Resident Handbook 
    • Answer questions about the apartments from the new resident(s) and/or their family members; act as a liaison for residents and family members to put them in contact with appropriate staff who can answer specific questions.
    • Introduce the new resident to staff in various departments.
    • Communication with family members about resident’s integration into the community; visit with the Apartment Director about any concerns or issues
    • Lunch/activity dates for new IL residents with current residents; take into consideration similar personalities and likes.
  • Instruct the new resident on the following:
    • Work orders.
    • Weekly program (via Electronic Display Boards) and the various department functions (activities and wellness).
    • Who to contact for nursing or healthcare questions.
    • Silversphere system; purpose, use and daily reporting.
    • Emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Assist the marketing department with event staffing for prospect events.
  • Select residents, organize, and run the Welcome Ambassador Committee; inform the committee about new residents and introduce the new resident to his/her respective Welcome Ambassador Representative.
  • Coordinate new resident blanket gift with Owner; order, package, and deliver to the respective Welcome Ambassador for new resident.
  • Visit residents who are in the hospital or the McCrite Plaza Rehab; in addition, notify internal apartment staff members of resident’s location (i.e. hospital, hospice, etc.) to help bridge any communication gaps amongst nursing and administration regarding apartment residents.
  • Introduce self to individuals in the McCrite Plaza Rehab who have made a deposit for an Independent Living apartment. Provide answers to questions, as needed, with regards to the transition from the rehab unit to the apartments; interact with the Admissions Coordinator, Marketing, and Nursing, etc. as needed.
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in outings supporting the wellness program; such as, but not limited to, wine tastings, art walks, and other social events based upon residents’ interests.
  • Responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision during activities.
  • Contact residents with reminder calls about activities, events, and general items; provide assistance to residents to get to and from activities.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service classes, and committee meetings as assigned; complete report for facility committees, as needed or requested.
  • Work cooperatively with residents, families, volunteers, visitors, and staff.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Follow HIPPA guidelines at all times.
  • Operate computers programmed with software needed to record, store, and analyze resident information; operate copy/fax/printer machines to send documents and produce documents.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Apartment Director.

Education and Experiences: Prior experience in a similar working environment is preferred, but not required of the position. Strong administrative and organizational skills preferred.
