Hours:7am to 3pm 

Job Summary: The Floor Technician position’s primary function is to perform a variety of tasks to keep the buildings and living spaces clean and orderly condition. In addition, this position performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs and removing rubbish.

Essential Functions / Duties:

Perform routine maintenance to ensure that carpets and other flooring surfaces are kept in good physical condition and do not deteriorate. The following are some, but not all, duties to be performed:
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming; this includes common areas, stairwells, apartments and other areas requested by management.
  • Strip, seal, finish and polish floors.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
  • Notify management concerning the need for major repairs.
  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions or work with contractors to diagnose issues.
  • Set-up tables and chairs as needed for activities and events.
  • Clean upholstered furniture as needed.
  • Conduct deep cleaning procedures for apartments after residents vacate the premises.
  • Read work orders to receive instructions and to determine work requirements.
  • Listen to and respond to questions and concerns from residents, families, or staff regarding apartments, facility, grounds, etc.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to ensure the operation of the facility or as directed by the Environmental Services Supervisor.

Education and Experiences: This position requires previous experience in maintenance, carpentry, electrical work, lawn care or related field.
